By Carlie Brown
Two years ago my mom Kimberly Brown gifted a fairy door to my daughter for her third birthday. It quickly became one of our family’s most cherished gifts, and was the source of my inspiration for writing A Very Fairy Door.
At the time, I was overcoming cancer and this project brought so much joy and happiness to our family when we needed it most. It has really helped our child during some difficult moments in her life such as my illness, moving homes, fears of the dark, and getting a needle – to name just a few. It has also been a fun way to reward good behaviours to provide encouragement and most importantly it’s helped my daughter to sleep in her own room, in her own bed, the ENTIRE NIGHT!
A Very Fairy Door, is more than just your average children’s book. Illustrated by Krista Leigh Smith with door design by Kimberly Brown what makes A Very Fairy Door so special is the way it taps into a child’s imagination. The look in a child’s eyes when they wake to find that a fairy has visited is priceless! Once the door is placed in its perfect spot, even the smallest of treasures left by the fairies is sure to bring out the biggest of smiles.
A Very Fairy Door has brought so many magical memories to our home and it is my sincerest hope that it will bring countless wonderful memories to other homes, too!
With the launch of our successful Kickstarter campaign our dreams are now becoming a reality
