Barnyard March Break

Join us this spring as we celebrate all things maple during our annual Barnyard Break! In addition to our various animal demonstrations, join us for special features such as cooking with maple syrup and maple taffy on the snow. Plus, young visitors can listen to a classic children’s story and get creative with a Canadiana-themed craft. Don’t miss special demonstrations throughout the month including: an evening cooking demonstration with Chef Lynn Crawford, a daytime cooking demonstration with Chef Cezin Nottaway, an appearance by Big Joe – mascot for the Ottawa RedBlacks, a woodcutting demonstration from the McGill University Woodsmen Team, and a performance and workshop offered by storyteller Louis Mercier.

Great Canadian Maple Festival

2017 marks Canada’s 150 Birthday and what better way to celebrate than with our country’s
sweetest gift to the world, maple syrup. The Great Canadian Maple Festival is a celebration of
everything maple from maple syrup, maple candy, maple craft beer, cotton candy, maple soda, poutine topped with maple bacon, maple whisky, maple donuts, maple beans and wieners, maple butter, sap on a stick, and more. Maple Fest will also feature live entertainment, a kids fun zone, craft beer gardens, chainsaw carving, lumberjack competition, pancake breakfast, and a delicious selection of maple foodies. All this with FREE Admission.

The Mom Conference  We are delighted and honoured to participate in The 2nd Mom Conference at Beyond Yoga Studio & Wellness Centre Kanata With 8 engaging presentations by over 10 knowledgeable professional speakers, it promises to be a fun and informative event wheather you’re expecting your first child or sending your last off to college, there’s valuable information here for any mom. It will also include prizes, food and some fun mom time.

Kick it! A dance club for kids.

Kids love to dance and Centrepointe Theatres delivers with three kick IT events this season! Once again we host our sell-out dance club that has kids movin’ and groovin’ no matter the weather. For only $5 each, tickets sell out fast!  Mark your calendars for all three dates this season, when the Centrepointe Studio Theatre undergoes a major makeover. Four- to ten-year-olds can let loose on the dance floor in the coolest joint in town! Need new moves? Learn the slickest steps from our enthusiastic in-house dance crew, The Flava Factory, Ottawa’s only street dance crew. Kids love the bangin’ beats of Dynamix Productions. When they need a breather, they can get creative in the Dynamix Photobooth – and take home a complimentary pic as a souvenir. For the chaperones, there’s always the Big Kids Coffee Bar stocked with snacks to nibble on. Better yet, join your youngsters on the dance floor and show ‘em what you’ve got!

March Break Spy Camp  Children ages 7 to 12 go undercover at the Diefenbunker and return home having mastered the skills of real secret agents! As Bunker Agents, they learn the art of espionage, develop disguises for cover, make and break codes, create and use spy gadgets, go on scavenger hunts, and take part in many more fun activities. Your child will get a taste of what it’s like to be a spy, and will graduate as a Level One Spy upon completion!

Sugar Festival 2017
Take part in Ottawa’s only Sugar Festival in town! This four-day festival that brings together diverse activities such as lumberjack competition, axe-throwing, maple tastings, performances by various local artists, jugglers and face-painters. For families, you can also look forward to visiting live farm animals and sled dogs, playing on inflatable structures, and carnival rides. And for all ages, we’ll have a craft fair, a lumberjack competition, a culinary competition featuring local chefs … and more!
