 Canada Day 150th Anniversary

Get ready to experience exciting and historic moments as we highlight Canada Day like never before with a full weekend of events! From June 30 to July 2, 2017, Canada 150 will be celebrated with memorable activities and performances—featuring well-known artists—on three official sites: Parliament Hill, the Canadian Museum of History and Major’s Hill Park.

Canada Day at the Diefenbunker

Join us at the Diefenbunker Museum on Canada’s 150th Birthday. We’ll have family-friendly activities, including face-painting, a maple leaf scavenger hunt through the entire 4 storey underground Bunker, an obstacle course, crafts in the cafeteria, and more! We’ll also have a BBQ with hot dogs and veggie dogs. As well as frozen treats and drinks for an affordable price!Please note our special hours: 10am – 2pm Cost: Free

MosaïCanada

From coast to coast, blooming treasures await discovery. Celebrate Canada’s sesquicentennial by enjoying the variety of gardens across the land. From Canada’s capital to the country’s eastern and western shores – and all places in between – gardens are a-blossoming, awaiting you. Whether it’s the Aboriginal Gardens in Montreal’s famous Botanical Gardens, a rare example of a walled garden in Ottawa, or Victoria’s renowned transformation of a quarry into Butchart Gardens, ingenious interpretations of gardens exist everywhere.

Canada Day at the Aviation Museum

The Canada Aviation and Space Museum invites everyone to a great day of fun and entertainment! Celebrate Canada like never before at this country’s premier aerospace museum, with dynamic activities for the whole family. The Museum is the ideal venue in any weather: sun, rain or summer heat. Admission is free all day on July 1, but donations are welcome.

9:00 a.m. – Museum and activity stations open

9:00 a.m. – Arrival of Bell 429 Helicopter and the C150 Global Odyssey Team

9:30 a.m. – Presentation and Launch of world flight by C150 Global Odyssey Team

10:30 a.m. – Departure of the Bell 429 Helicopter and the C150 Global Odyssey Team

11:00 a.m.* – Performance by the Canadian Armed Forces Parachute Team, the SkyHawks

11:30 a.m. – Autograph session with the Canadian Armed Forces Parachute Team, the SkyHawks

12:00 p.m.* – Possible fly-past by the Canadian Forces Snowbirds

1:00 p.m. – Special presentations in the Main Theatre

2:00 p.m. – Concert by BAM! Percussion

3:00 p.m.* – Rocket launch by the Ottawa Rocketry Group

3:30 p.m. – Ejection Seat Demonstration

4:15 p.m.* – Rocket launch by the Ottawa Rocketry Group

All activities and displays will be open from 9am to 4:00pm unless otherwise indicated.

 

Canada Day at the Agriculture Museum

It’s time to celebrate! The Canada Agriculture and Food Museum is highlighting Canada’s 150th birthday with lots of exciting activities for the whole family. Our special demonstrations will offer visitors the chance to learn about Canadian agriculture and learn about different Canadian breeds of livestock. There will also be games, ice cream making and tasting as well a sample of our red & white strawberry shortcake. Admission is free.

Canada Day in Kanata

Welcome to Glenview Homes Canada Day in Kanata 2017: Celebrating Canada 150

The Glenview Homes Canada Day in Kanata Celebration is one of the largest community events in Ottawa region. In conjunction with Ottawa 2017 and Canada 150 Canada Day in Kanata will have 2 full days of programming for all ages. Canada Day Cheerfully Made Etsy Market

 

THIS July 1st, join us in ALMONTE for our FIRST EVER outdoor market! We are partnering with Etsy Canada to create a fantastic 60 seller marketplace on beautiful, historic Mill Street, right in the heart of downtown Almonte.  Escape the chaos of our nations capital on Canada’s 150th birthday and head to family friendly Almonte for the day…and night! Our market takes place from 10am to 2pm and will be immediately followed by our annual July 1st activities at Gemmill Park.

 

Billings Estate Canada Day Tea

Saturday, July 1 from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm Come together to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday with a very special Canada Day Tea. Spend time with your loved ones while enjoying a traditional three-tier platter. Registration is required, and opens on Friday, May 26.
Cost: $22.60 per person (including taxes).

Downtown Rideau Living Flag

We invite you and your family to be part of Ottawa’s only Living Flag this Canada Day! Come to Downtown Rideau’s Ogilvy Square on July 1 to celebrate Canada and be a body in our Living Flag! Enjoy complementary refreshments, a chance to take part in a professional group photo and camaraderie.

Pre-register online to GUARANTEE your spot, receive a commemorative Canada 150 t-shirt and be eligible for fabulous door prizes. A friendly reminder to please dress in white shorts or pants if you wish to be in the front row of the flag (for photo purposes) and to wear red or white clothing. ON-SITE REGISTRATION: 11:30am FLAG FORMATION: 1:00pm

Canada Day at the NAC

Throughout the day, the NAC will be welcoming and secure. On July 1st, the NAC is encouraging patrons to travel light when coming downtown. Bags will be hand-checked at NAC entrances, and there will be a free coat check for large bags and strollers. The NAC advises patrons to use public transit to travel downtown.
