Elves at the Estate
Kids and their families are invited to visit Billings Estate National Historic Site for a day filled with festive fun! Weather permitting we will also be spreading holiday cheer outside on the grounds as we warm up by a fire and learn more about winter life on the Billings family farm.

The Hockey Sweater: A Musical
It’s 1940s Quebec – Habs country – and young Roch proudly wears his #9 hockey sweater day and night, until it is too small and worn to last another season. But a new sweater, sent by Mr. Eaton himself, inadvertently puts young Roch in enemy colours, fighting on and off the ice to maintain his sense of belonging. Roch Carrier’s timeless tale has charmed generations of children and adults with its themes of loyalty, acceptance and hockey glory.

Elf – The Musical
Buddy, a young orphan, mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. The would-be elf is raised, unaware that he is actually a human, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa’s permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity.

Mayor’s 18th Annual Christmas Celebration

Santa and Mrs. Clause will arrive from the North Pole and will welcome visitors in their very own outdoor cabin.. Come ice skate on the Sens Rink of Dreams, take a horse-drawn wagon ride on the downtown streets surrounding City Hall, then indulge in delicious BeaverTails. The live entertainment is sure to get you moving, with planned performances from Le Groupe Swing and Sonshine & Broccoli! Canada’s Ballet Jörgen (CBJ) will bring its critically praised holiday production The Nutcracker: A Canadian Tradition to Ottawa December 12 and 13 at Shenkman Arts Centre, and Meridian Centrepointe Theatres on December 15 for a total of five performances. Danced to Tchaikovsky’s beloved music and showcasing Klara and her nutcracker with snowflakes, lumberjacks, loons, and Mounties.
